Today was proof that working with nature is not easy at all. We went out in good weather conditions and with high hopes to see some whales and dolphins. As indicated by our lookouts we headed west of the island to the location were some common dolphins had been spotted, and after a while, we saw a few individuals but unfortunately, they were very spread out and hard to see, so we moved on and tried to see different animals, but not with much luck.
After some time of searching, not only form the boat but also from land, we were able to find an amazing group of our faithful common dolphins, and these were socializing and some even approaching the boat which was a delight to our guests, we also saw some calves with their moms in the pod, these are always fun to observe.
During the trip we were lucky to find many Cory’s Shearwater, a marine bird that nests in the island, and can be seen here from February to October, we have been seeing them in small numbers during our trips, but the big groups we found today definitely mean they are coming.
