We are much more than a tourism company. We also have an important role with social solidarity institutions (IPSS) and whenever possible, we offer experiences so that everyone in the local community has the opportunity to live and discover the amazing biodiversity of the Azores.
We want to be part of the solution. We work together with various local projects, events and social institutions.
This week we had the opportunity to take with us two institutions – Casa das Freiras “Obra Social Madre Maria Clara”, from Candelária, on Pico island and Casa do Gaiato “Obra do Padre Américo, nos Açores” on São Miguel island.
Our mission is to respect and help the local population, and as a responsible company that we are, to involve the community for a common good.
Casa das Freiras – Obra Social Madre Maria Clara http://www.osmmca.pt/ is a private social solidarity institution that supports children and young people from disorganized and dysfunctional families.
Obra do Padre Américo – Casa do Gaiato of São Miguel http://casadogaiato-saomiguel.com/ is a non-profit institution whose purpose is to educate and integrate children and young people who have been deprived of their family environment in society.
In both islands, São Miguel and Pico, where we have our shops, we provide opportunities for young people from the IPSS.
Did you know that whale and dolphin watching has many benefits?
Being in contact with animals has many benefits for health. Several studies show that animals can increase self-esteem, reduce feelings of anxiety, isolation and grief. Watching cetaceans can help fight depression, increase confidence, as well as empathy and teamwork, among other benefits.
At Futurismo, fortunately, we know this well! And we have several partnerships, as is the case with Aurora Social, another social solidarity institution in São Miguel.
Futurismo is more than an adventure company, a company dedicated to noble causes!
