Imagine skimming the Atlantic on a speedy zodiac boat , all eyes searching the glistening sea for signs of dolphins. Suddenly, your guide spots them ahead and you gently approach the pod. They are amazing – playfully leaping around your boat, whistling and signaling as if welcoming you to their world.

Now it’s your turn to slip into the deep blue waters to join them. Your guide has made sure you are comfortable with your mask and snorkel. You are ready for this moment to happen.

In an instant, you are floating amongst these inquisitive and charming creatures, seemingly as curious about you as you are about them. You’ll hear their whistling and maybe even make eye contact. There is just no way to describe the sensation, you only know you want it to last forever.

However, in time you are called back to the boat, but not to worry, you’re here for a week of these magical moments. This is just the beginning of your São Miguel Swimming with Dolphins Tour Package . There will be plenty of time for more fun and memories like these.

ON THE PROGRAM
SWIMMING WITH DOLPHINS

Swimming with wild dolphins in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean is an incredible experience . 

We start this tour from Ponta Delgada harbor , in São Miguel Island, on a zodiac boat with a group of around 8 people.

Before the adventure, our team of marine biologists or guides will explain everything you need to know about this experience: how to get into the water, how to interact with the dolphins and how to use the snorkel and the mask. All of this is very important information so you can take the most out of this experience. 

Normally, in each tour you can dive two to three times. We promise you a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and a lot of knowledge about these super intelligent creatures of the ocean.

Note : You must feel comfortable swimming in the open ocean and know how to use a mask and snorkel. Children from 8 years old can participate accompanied by a responsible adult as long as they fulfill these requirements.

ON THE PROGRAM
SETE CIDADES ACTIVE JEEP & LAKES

This is an active tour that combines dirt paths with kayak and bicycle activities at Lagoa das Sete Cidades.

Enjoy this wonderful landscape from a different perspective in a jeep.

We will take you to the top of Sete Cidades caldera stopping at some points of interest such as Pico do Carvão, Pico da Cruz and Lomba do Vasco viewpoint A small stop will be made in the center of Sete Cidades, followed by a passage next to the Peninsula and then we will stop at the famous viewpoint of Vista do Rei .

The other part of the day is to enjoy Sete Cidades by bike and kayak ! This is an excellent way to explore nature for those who enjoy active holidays. Our guide will give interesting information about Sete Cidades and also explain how to go kayaking.

We also have bikes for children , but we advise you to inform us about the size and weight of the child in order to provide the necessary equipment.

This activity requires a minimum number of 4 people.

ON THE PROGRAM
VAN TOUR TO FURNAS

On this complete tour, you will feel and experience the volcanic origins of the island in Furnas , a magical place full of geothermal activity. After the pick up in Ponta Delgada at 9am, we will start by a visit to the local tea factory Gorreana before reaching the viewpoint over Furnas: Pico do Ferro . You will definitely have to take pictures for your album about the Azores. Then, we will go to the Caldeiras das Furnas to visit the famous fumaroles and taste gasocarbonic mineral waters from different springs.

Passing by the Lagoa das Furnas , the local restaurant is our next stop to taste the famous “Cozido”, one of the most emblematic dishes of the Azores. It is a mixture of regional vegetables and meats cooked with the help of volcanic activity. A gastronomic experience you cannot miss. This is a very special meal cooked only with the steam of the Earth. 

After lunch, we will visit the centenary Terra Nostra botanical garden , famous for its extraordinary collection of native plants from the Azores, as well as others from all over the world that have adapted to the local conditions. At the end of the visit, you are invited to go for a dip in an iron-rich hot water swimming pool that has a temperature of 35-40ºC (95-104°F), a relaxing experience.

On the way back to Ponta Delgada, we will pass by the South Coast and also at Vila Franca do Campo where we will be able to see the Princess Ring islet and know more about the first capital of the island and the strong earthquake of 1522.
