Sunny Saturday and many dolphins

It was another sunny day at sea today, and once again the ocean was filled with common dolphins!

There were various groups displaying a different behaviour. Some were foraging, some were traveling, some had great jumps, and some were diving a lot. Again, we recognized some dolphins that were seen yesterday, so a part of the pod was the same. However, we saw a lot more dolphins today.

After a couple of hours of seeing common dolphins, one of our boats found bottlenose dolphins. In this area we saw huge schools of fish, so the dolphins probably found a great area to hunt the fish.

We tried to find whales with our hydrophone, however the sounds that we could hear underwater were all coming from communicating dolphins. This did lead us to the group of dolphins who were most active at the surface!
