This year we spent the international women’s day in our favourite place, out on the boat!
So for all our guests and especially for the ladies, the ocean had prepared many lovely gifts. We managed to find our first group of common dolphins quite fast after leaving the harbour but these were a bit shy so we went further to search for more.
Our second group was considerably larger, with maybe 150 individuals surrounding both our catamarans, slowly swimming, playing and bow-riding with us. Those of us who were close enough to the dolphins could actually hear them whistling but we still wonder what they were saying to each other. Maybe they were as curious about us as we were about them!
Later, however, we were in for a bigger surprise. A sperm whale had been spotted from land and we decided to head in its direction. We reached its area a few minutes before it went for a deep dive so we had the opportunity to see it at the surface for a little while. It was travelling quite fast in its preparation to go for lunch and then he said goodbye to us, showing its tail so we had to continue our journey.
Yet another big group of peaceful common dolphins was there for us to enjoy, in the presence of various seagulls and Cory’s shearwater so we stayed in their area for long enough so that everybody could get a perfect view of these beautiful animals. We can say that not only our guests but also we had a spectacular time and we are looking forward to seeing what next week will bring us.
