Today it was a fresh and windy day, the ocean showed us its strength and wildness with high waves.
The first sighted species was the Bottlenose dolphin, one of the resident species of the Azores, that means that we can sight them during the whole year.
This group of dolphin was very curious, they approached us and started to bow ride next to our boat.
They liked to play with the waves and also offered us some jump performances!
Then, we moved to another area, where our lookouts found something bigger. Everybody was looking for this animal, following some tailprints on the water surface when suddenly an enormous blow appeared very close to the boat, it was a Sei whale!
This baleen whale is a migratory species, the third biggest species in the world! They spend the most part of their life under the surface, however, we have been very fortunate to be able to see his dorsal fin and appreciate his giant body size. Today it has been an adventurous day!
