Dolphins warming us up with their feeding frenzy

What a great morning in the deep blue Atlantic ocean!

We started the morning with a huge group of our resident common dolphins, although they were hundreds, the group was very scattered so we did not spent too much time with them and went on with our trip. The next encounter, with the same species, was exceptional since the dolphins were on a feeding frenzy jumping and cooperating in order to capture a meal, a spectacular sighting, we could even see the fish schools underwater running away from the dolphins and marine birds.

After that, we headed to see a large but shy group of another resident cetacean, the bottlenose dolphins, though we were able to observe them very well, the group was not very interested in our boat.

So by indication of our lookouts we headed south to try to see some big animals, but unfortunately, and despite our efforts, today was not a whale day, but what an awesome and adventurous trip with the chilly winds of the Azorean winter!
