This morning we went out with our zodiac boat and it was a perfect morning!
We started out headed East to see a very calm group of common dolphins who were travelling and approaching our boat with moderate speed. No high jumps but they always manage to impress us. As we got to the dolphins, our lookout told us that a big male sperm whale was to our West but kinda far away so we waited for the whale to dive while we followed the dolphins.
Everything well-timed and brief moments after we stopped our boat, the whale came to the surface to rest and oxygenate in the sun. After some minutes down he went, giving us confirmation it was Mr. Liable!
In his previous dives he took 50 minutes, so enough time for us to go check out a group of bottlenose dolphins even further away from the island than the whale.
Yesterday our team went to rescue some Cory’s Shearwater so today we released one in the open ocean.
After seeing the bottlenose’s, we went back to where Mr Liable dived and after whale waiting for 10 minutes, we have a blow! The size and the power of that animal as it slowly dived into deep waters to continue its daily life and feeding.
