Other dolphins entangled in plastic in São Miguel

On this Saturday we managed to go out on a whale watching trip and luckily we found a huge group of bottlenose dolphins that were feeding once we arrived but shortly after got interested in the boat! For the entire time we had dozens of dolphins surrounding us, jumping, socializing, spyhopping and entertaining our guests in the best way possible!

Something sad got the attention of the crew, that was plastic stucked to the dorsal fin of two dolphins. This is a problem that we’ve been often noticing, the presence of plastic. Hopefully everyone starts reducing the use of this material instead of throwing it away!

After a while, our lookouts still hadn’t found any other species since they were looking even further away from the island to try and spot some whales which unfortunately did not happen, but a couple of minutes after looking closer to shore they discovered a great group of common dolphins, socializing and very calm. Our guests got to see the huge differences between the two species of dolphins and in this way we concluded our trip, a bit of rough seas but amazing animals!
