Today we had an adventurous morning out on sea with waves and wind that splashed water on us. But nothing better than a salt bath in the middle of the Atlantic in the company of amazing dolphins!
First, we found a huge group of Atlantic Spotted dolphins with a lot of babies. We know they are babies because they still don’t have spots on the body. They were super interested in our boats, cruising the waves and every time we tried to speed up they would start jumping. We kept moving as the babies slowly left the boat and the adult ones approached, showing us their amazing spots and the differences from the babies and juveniles.
Our zodiacs tried moving even further away from the island since our lookouts told us they might have seen a blow from a whale. Unfortunately we didn’t found anything there so we moved closer to the island to go see another huge group of dolphins. But this time, it was our resident species: common dolphin! They were very active and we even saw some bait balls.
Despite the tough weather conditions, we had really great animals that were approaching us, making a very pleasant time for our guests.
