Futurismo Biologists TeamIt’s been 30 years already since Futurismo was founded! Waw! Probably many people didn’t know, but Futurismo started in São Miguel Island as a yacht charter company, doing journeys with guests in between the different islands of the azorean archipelago. This activity evolved to cetacean observation as we do it right now.
We have changed a lot, that’s for sure, and there are so many stories we could tell about all these years, but some things did not change at all: the passion for bringing our guests the best sea experiences and the conservation of our heritage and culture. Since the very beginning, efforts were made to protect our whaling patrimony. Even former lookouts were converted to whale watching lookouts, giving them a new job and a new hope. We recognized the intrinsic value of the animals. We linked science and tourism.
Now that a gradual reopening begins, is a good moment to look back and fill our hearts with hope! Happy birthday to us!
