Two different dolphin species with interesting behaviours

Today was a dolphin day! This morning was a little bit windy and the sea was wavey, but it didn’t take too long to find a first group of one of the resident species here in the Azores, a group of bottlenose dolphins! The group was huge, travelling all together. They were curious and very active,  jumping all the time, we could even see some babies jumping as well! Do you know why dolphins jump? There are some reasons; to socialize and communicate, to rid of parasites on their skin and of course, to play!

Then, we moved to another area where our lookouts spotted another group,  it was a common dolphin group, another resident species  They were travelling as well but not really interested in us. After a while we managed to find more common dolphins, these were looking for food. We could see some seabirds around, that could mean that there are fishes around, both dolphins and seabirds feed on them.

Today whales decided not to appear, this is nature! Everyday is a surprise! But maybe next time?
