This morning we started the day with a cloudy sky and a bit of wind, but lots of enthusiasm to see what today’s trip would show us.
As soon as the zodiac went out to the sea, there was found a group of about 30 bottlenose dolphins that remained swimming and playing with the boat for a while. Though they later lost interest in our boat, they kept socializing a lot between them.
After this nice group of dolphins, we spotted the blow of a baleen whale, and after getting closer to it we could confirm that it was a sei whale. Though it appeared just shortly and disappeared quickly, we were lucky enough to spot its blow, back and dorsal fin from both the catamaran and the zodiac.
After this amazing appearance, a group of about 100 Atlantic spotted dolphins was found by the catamaran. While some were feeding with sea birds a bit further from the boat, others stayed playing with us, so we could appreciate well its characteristic pigmentation, which turns more spotted and clearer with their age. We could even see some of the dolphins doing big leaps over the water! They remained for a long time with us, so we could see there were some juveniles, calves and even a newborn in the group!
Later, another group of about 40 bottlenose dolphins was seen from the catamaran, and also stayed swimming with the boat for a while. They were so close we could perfectly appreciate how big they were, and their harmonic movements while moving underwater.
We enjoyed spending time with the friendly groups of different dolphins, and caught even a short glimpse at a sei whale.
Don’t hesitate to book now a trip with us and enjoy your experience!
