Sperm whales and dolphins – three out of four resident species today!

Another great morning! First we saw a group of bottlenose dolphins, but then we wanted to see some bigger animals and our lookout sent us to an area where we could see sperm whales

These sperm whales were the same that we saw yesterday. The curiosity is that this group of sperm whales used to be close to Pico. We know it thanks of the photo-ID research we do, and we spotted a sperm whale that is called Whitehead. Moreover, we could see a juvenile sperm whale who was very active.

Also, some boats were able to see common dolphins on the way to the sperm whales area. A really nice morning with three resident species.

In the afternoon we went again to see the group of sperm whales spotted in the morning. They were all the time doing feeding dives and showing us the tail, amazing! In one ocasion we could see double tails! ?

Also we had a great time with bottlenose dolphins who were very curious, active and putting the belly up doing the preliminars to work for the future generations. Actually the newborns will never know who is the father because they mate all with many partners.
