Sighting statistics of March 2019

As March ended, here are the sighting statistics with all the sighted species during the month.

We can now say that the baleen whales are passing by our waters. We had a Sei whale and two days with a blue whale. Also throughout the month, there were some humpback whales who gave quite a show to our guests. ?

The surprise of March was a group of 5 orcas who stayed near São Miguel for about a week. We also saw all 4 resident species, including the common dolphin being the most frequent species sighted. One thing that we must say is that the Cory’s shearwater have definitely returned. What this means is that the weather is getting more suitable for a number of animals and more enjoyable for our guests onboard!
