June was another great month for whale watching in São Miguel. This month we saw 8 cetacean species:- Common dolphins (Delphinus delphis)
- Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus)
- Striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba)
- Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis)
- Risso’s dolphins (Grampus griseus)
- Pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhyncus)
- Beaked whale (Mesoplodon sp.)
- Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus)
This month is also turning out to be really good so far. Yesterday we already saw 8 species throughout the day!
