Impressive male

Once again we set out to the sea in our boats accompanied by calm waters as blue as the sky.
Not long after leaving the harbor, we came across a large group of bottlenose dolphins close to the coast. As soon as they saw us, the animals decided to come and greet us at the bow of our boat, where we were able to observe them closely through the clear water, noticing the large size of some of them. They were so close that we could even hear them whistling!

Once we had enjoyed our time with this resident species, we headed out to the open sea in search of the next one. Moments after arriving at the area indicated by the lookouts we started to see the first blows, they were sperm whales!!!
When we were close, we began to see the whole body of the animal, even its head and some flukes of others that began to dive for food.
We stayed in this area for quite some time, as numerous animals began to appear and disappear in the water. Females and even young males were all around us, what a spectacle! We had the opportunity to observe different behaviors, such as deep dives, mid-water dives, rollings, upside down swimming even one individual sleeping in an upright position. Another of our boats was also lucky enough to encounter a large male, who waved goodbye with his fluke, giving us the chance to identify him in the future. A great encounter with the Moby Dick congeners!

On our way back, the sea had another surprise for us…. baleen whales! Undoubtedly a special encounter at this time of the year, due to the near ending of the migration season of this type of whales.
In this encounter, we could see the great size of these cetaceans, whose dorsal fin is impressive when it comes out of the water in a vertical position. But the most unexpected surprise was that the sei whales had a calf among them.
Once again the ocean gave us a spectacular day. If you don’t want to miss the surprises that the ocean can offer you, don’t hesitate and book with us now!
