Today a total of 4 different species were sighted by our boats! The first species was the Atlantic spotted dolphin, a migratory animal that comes here in summer, when the water is warmer. Then, a bigger animal was waiting for us, a big male sperm whale was resting at mid water, we were looking at it when our lookouts found something else, a Sei whale! The third biggest animal in the world! Another migratory species that travel from low latitudes in winter to higher latitudes in summer, its location was quite unpredictable, it was traveling fast and allowing us to see its enormous blows. At the end, returning to Ponta Delgada, we found a last group of common dolphins, one of the resident species, some of them were very curious and approaching our boat, and looking for fish among a group of Cory’s shearwaters. Everyday is a surprise!
