Common dolphins and sea birds on a bumpy boat trip

The ocean welcomed us today with all its strength and intense shades of blue. Although the trip was a bit bumpy and the waves were surprising us at all times with spray in our boat, we really enjoyed the experience and got a boost of adrenaline.

During the trip, we were able to see a big group of common dolphins spread around a wide area. They were very curious about our boat and really enjoyed bowriding with us and surfing the waves. Their characteristic yellow patch really shined through the water and it enabled us to spot some mating behaviour.

Many birds joined us during the trip. The emblematic Cory’s shearwaters, with their impressive way of flying known as dynamic soaring or also the common terns, a species that performs one of the longest migrations of all birds, with an average round trip of 35,000km each year.

Overall, it was an adventurous beautiful morning. See you tomorrow!
