The last Saturday, we had another great day for the well-being of our planet!
Do you know how many kilos of garbage we picked up off the coast of Santa Clara? 435kg in less than two hours!!
What did we collect?
Lots of plastic, lots of beer bottles, cigarette butts, construction material, fishing material (mainly nylon used for fishing nets), tires, wood, the famous Covid masks, clothes and toys (at least 3 bags).
We can see that what contaminates the place is the landfill itself that was made in this area and is completely full of plastic and all kinds of domestic waste.
Thanks to everyone who helped us!
Who participated: 25 people, including two Guardians of the Azores families and a beautiful dog
Sincere thanks from Futurismo Azores Adventures in another sustainability action.
The garbage collection data will be registered in the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA Project. This action is also developed within the scope of the Oceanlit Project, of the Regional Government of the Azores, of which Futurismo is an ambassador. Also thanks to Regional Directorate for Maritime Affairs, Blue Ocean Foundation and our partner Greener Act.
