Today was a cloudy, windy and foggy day, these conditions made lookout’s work harder. We headed east following their indications and we found a small group of common dolphins.

This is one of our resident species and easy to recognize because of the yellow coloration in the sides of their body.

Then we continued the trip with the hope to find other species but the visibility got worse. Further out we spotted a huge number of fishing boats. These traditional fishing boats were trying to catch squid and also tunas.

Our clients could see the sustainable and traditional way for catching tuna, 1 by 1. Some of this boats were using the water sprinklers which simulate a school of fish in order to attract the tuna. There were a lot of seabirds and also two great skua.
Without more information of animals presence we returned to Ponta Delgada. Work with wildlife means that not every day we had the same luck, hopefully next day will be better!
