This year in March we observed 11 different cetacean species. In the graph above you can see the frequency of tours in which each tour was sighted. Below is a list of the species in ordered from most encountered to least encountered:
- Common dolphin (Delphinus delphis)
- Sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus)
- Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus)
- Risso’s dolphin (Grampus griseus)
- Sei whale (Balaenoptera borealis)
- Blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus)
- Fin whale (Balaenoptera physalus)
- Pilot whale (Globicaphala macrorhynchus)
- Striped dolphin (Stenella coeruleoalba)
- False killer whale (Pseudorca crassidens)
- Sowerby’s beaked whale (Mesoplodon bidens)
