The day started with a fantastic group of Atlantic
spotted dolphins, as
usual, they were curious about the boat and everyone was able to see them
underwater due to very good visibility.

Following, 3 sperm
whales showed up! They
looked very relaxed in the surface sticking the heads out of the water,
finishing with two tails.
Striped
dolphins also decided to
appear with their usual behaviour, going super-fast and keeping the distance
from the boats. Some common dolphins and Risso’s
dolphins were also part of
today’s show.

The afternoon offered us a very big group of common
dolphins playing with the
boat and some baby dolphins were spotted in the same group.
We continued our tour and after travelling for half an hour, out of the blue a
big splash appeared! Only one thing can make such a big splash in this time of
the year …sperm whales jumping! We came closer we were able to identify the
whale, it was a sperm whale called Orca. Three other smaller individuals also
showed up after Orca said goodbye to us with their tail.

Before leaving the area one of our boats sighted three
beaked whales and even though this species doesn’t approach that much it was
possible to say that it was Sowerby’s
beaked whale.

Lots of sharks were also spotted today, as well some loggerhead
turtles and
a sunfish.
