We went out to sea with several of our boats to a dolphin area relatively close to Ponta Delgada, and there were hundreds of them, the largest group of these species sighted this year, covering a large area and with all kinds of behaviour.
They were really curious about our boats and approached us while performing some jumps and bowriding.
Also we got to see some association with our notorious migrating bird, the Cory’s shearwater, probably trying to catch some fish.
One of our boats went on a different activity, swimming with dolphins, wich is always a wonderful experience! At a point of the trip, the dolphins went for a dive near us and some guests had the pleasure of seeing a loggerhead turtle just resting on the surface and taking in some sunshine.
