Today the water was flat as a mirror in the first hours of the day and later we just had a light breeze. Perfect spotting conditions to see the smallest irregularity on the water surface. In the morning we started with bottlenose dolphins, Atlantic spotted dolphins and Risso’s dolphins and in the afternoon big pods of Atlantic spotted dolphins. The ribs were also managing to see common dolphins morning and afternoon. Today was ideal for bird watchers too, the number of seabird species was doubling the average. The amount of great shearwaters among the Cory’s shearwaters was elevated, so we could see several side by side looking for fish. Roseate terns and Bulwer’s petrel are also not an everyday sight. Just to be on the water was a joy and every single sight is a plus.
