Futurismo is currently being represented at the World Whale Conference in Hervey Bay, Australia! The conference is taking place between 8-11 October 2019. We are a member of the World Cetacean Alliance (WCA), the organizers of this conference, because we believe in responsible whale watching. This conference is very insightful and inspires us to continuously evolve our techniques and approaches during the whale watching trips, whilst respecting the whales and dolphins.
The conference, so far, has had a mix of lecturers and a mix of public ranging from researchers including artists, whale watching companies, the aboriginal community called the Butchulla, and the local government. This makes this conference very diverse with many different perspectives from various stakeholders. The theme of this year is “Journeys that inspire change” and ideas are being shared during lectures, interactive workshops, and discussions.
