December 2012 sighting statistics

During the month of December this year we only had 9 tours. Unfortunately this time of the year not many people visit the Azores even though we operate all year and all through the winter we still see several whale and dolphin species. During this month we have sighted 6 different species in just 9 tours! The highlights of this month were an encounter with false killer whales on Christmas Day and a humpback whale at the end of the month. Additionally common dolphins were sighted on 100% of all our tours this month! Below  you can see the daily sighting frequency of all species encountered this month:
