Bottlenose dolphins feeding and common dolphins!

Today was another great day out at sea! Although a little windy, we managed to find two species of cetaceans.

Our journey started with a group of bottlenose dolphins who were surrounded by the Cory´s shearwaters at the surface. They were probably feeding!  We also managed to take a picture of one of our known individuals called “submarino”.

This individual has a cut dorsal fin, and we don’t know how it has been cut, as this is not a natural shape. But it seems to be just fine as it has been in our catalogue for a couple of years already.

Our other individual that we recognized was “Egipcio”, the dolphin that has a dorsal fin shaped like a pyramid!

Then we continued west slightly more offshore and found our second resident species, the common dolphins! They were a little more difficult to view because they were very spread out. We had many small spread out groups, and we managed to get the best view of them, and even got some nice pictures!
