What a windy and rainy day in São Miguel but we had such an amazing day with our resident stars: sperm whales! In both morning and afternoon trip, we moved to the west, out of Mosteiros to see the animals and we saw everything: females with calves, spy hopping, lob tailing, lob throw and breaches (and it even jumped with his mouth open)! At a certain time, we had about 15 sperm whales together on the surface! It was a long trip but really worth it!!

In Pico Island we went out to swim with dolphins. We started with a really big group of spotted dolphins, more than 500 of them and they were super curious about us! After that our lookout sent us to swim with the resident species in Pico Island, the Risso’s dolphins. What an incredible experience to be able to see them in the wild.
