We are ending the year with difficult difficult whale watching tours due to a lot of bad weather. The consequences this month were fewer tours this month with not a lot of variation in sightings during tours. As usual the common dolphin never disappointed as they were around 100% of the days we went to sea this month. Sighting frequencies of the other encountered species can be seen in the graph above, with common names listed below:
- Common dolphin (Delphinus delphis)
- Risso’s dolphin (Grampus griseus)
- Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus)
- Striped dolphin (Stenella coeruleoalba)
Let´s hope 2010 becomes a better year for all: nature and people.
