Futurismo was the first whale watching operator to see orcas (also known as killer whales) off Pico island in 2010. This lucky rare encounter took place some days ago. Orcas are not sighted close to the Azores islands very often,so those that were aboard to see it were very lucky. Above are some of the photos taken by Karin from Nova Atlantis Foundation.
