What an amazing day!
Sperm whales, humpback whale, sei whale, bottlenose
dolphins and common dolphins!!

Different boats, different experiences. Even a whale carcass!! We guess it was a dead sperm whale.. smelling not nice.
Have a look at the underwater video, you will see even the vertebral column!!
Amazing.. that doesn’t happen every day… Do you know that even when dead,
whales are still a valuable resource for a lot of species? Scavengers on the
surface, and endemic ones, that live only in those whale carcasses, when sank
in deep waters. The cycle of life!!

But.. let’s go back to the animals alive!
From one of our rubber boat we
saw at least two sperm whales; from another rib, the humpback, which showed the
tail; and from our catamaran, sei whales!

In the morning, however, we saw one
baleen whale from the catamaran quite difficult to identify.. not sure if it
was a fin or a sei whale. Sometimes the dorsal fin is not enough, and you need
to check the ridge on the head of the sei or the right side of the mouth white.
We will check all our photos to discover it! But we guess that was probably a
fin whale.

Dolphins, as usual, were amazing, both bottlenose and common
dolphins. Also to swim with!!!
