What an awesome day. We had a little bit of everything big animals were out there for us to observe 🙂
We started with some sperm whales in the morning. One of the individuals got curious, approaching us till 20 meters!
In the afternoon tour the whales were still out there, we encountered Sei whales, a female with a calf and another individual in the group.
After this, some fast striped dolphin showed up near the boat.
It was time then to try to find the group of sperm whales from the morning, and for that we used our hydrophone. We are already in the area waiting for one come to the surface, but the spotter screamed to go east. “Waiting” for us was the biggest animal on the planet that showed up in a unforgettable way under Pico Mountain.
On the way home we passed again on the sperm whale area and we saw a female calf pair. The best way to finish the day.
