Morning with lots of Atlantic spotted dolphins and common dolphin

Another windy day, the Azorean weather just allowed us to go out in the morning. Today we saw two species of dolphins! First of all, we encountered the Atlantic spotted dolphins, a huge group with at least 200 individuals! They were quite spread out and we managed to see a lot of babies and juveniles.

We
also saw a spotted dolphin that was whiter than usual! It could be an
old individual, as they gain more spots as they get older, or it could
have some odd pigmentation.

Then we headed really close to the shore because our lookouts told our captain that we had another species. Suddenly we stopped the boat because there was a shark on our left, it was a small hammerhead shark and it spent some time on the surface.
Finally, we arrived in the area of common dolphins, they were quite calm and socializing a lot. Summertime is the best time for adult dolphins to work (a lot) for the next generation So it looks like September started with wavy and windy days but we wish better days!
