May has been another fantastic month for whale and dolphin watching off São Miguel Island in the Azores. In total we encountered 9 different cetacean species (5 whale species and 4 dolphin species). Every day that we went out and every tour we encountered at least one whale species, so this month we had a 100% success rate for whales on our tours! We also had a 100% success rate for seeing fin whales when we look at our daily statistics. This is the best time of the year for us to see whales and we feel very lucky to be in the company of the 5 largest animal species in the world!
