We went out this morning with our catamaran Quatro Ventos and soon we encountered a very nice and friendly group of common dolphins. They were very big, or at least bigger than the ones we usually sight!
After the dolphins we continued further south to try our luck with the sperm whales. Our lookout put us on the area, but once there, the sea conditions got worst. Wind increased more than expected, and even we tried the hydrophone, it was very hard to listen to anything. We search for the sperm whales for a while, but this time we didn’t succeed with them.
However, during our trip our crew got excited when two beautiful and big species of seabirds were on sight: a northern gannet and two great skuas! Did you know that the wingspan of those birds is 1.90 and 1.40 respectively? Big ones! Reason enough to be excited with them!
