Today we went out on the blue sea confident that would we have good sightings, the visibility was great and the weather perfect. During the morning we had several pods of dolphins and in total we sighted four species. Striped dolphins jumping in unison, and very playful common dolphins feeding, Atlantic spotted dolphins feeding together with bigeye tuna, yellowfin tuna, blue marlin, Cory’s shearwaters and great shearwaters (our first sighting of this bird species this year!), and finally the great bottlenose dolphins. One of our zodiac still had time to see a loggerhead turtle and to collect one fishing net from the ocean. In the afternoon we started with sperm whales, a female and a very curious calf that, after the female dived, started spyhopping and approaching our boats. After the whales we completed the tour with spotted dolphins, a lonely bottlenose dolphin, a huge group of common dolphins and on our way back (the crew had started tying the fenders we came across a group of bottlenose dolphins like a cherry on top.
