Another summer day with 5 different cetacean species

Although summer is already here, the weather still feels a lot like spring. We had a cloudy day with patches of sun that warmed us when we more needed it. The sea was quite affected by the north winds we are having these days, with frequent white tips and some ondulation.

All this didn’t stop us from sighting 5 different species of cetaceans!
We started the morning with a sperm whale that was a bit elusive with some of our boats but after some patience and perseverance, some of our boats could enjoy it.

On our way back a group of bottlenose dolphins always on the move greeted us with some jumps and socializing behaviour.

In the afternoon, we found 4 different species of dolphins:
Risso’s dolphins (a mother with its calf), allowing us to appreciate the difference of coloration.

Another group of bottlenose dolphins with similar behaviour than the ones from this morning.

A brief sighting of some striped dolphins

And the icing on the cake, a big group of common dolphins swimming along our boats, looking for food, full of cute little babies.

This is nature, this is the ocean, everyday is a new day full of surprises.
