\nWe are all happy to be back out on the water again today, enjoying the sunshine and great weather and of course the marine wildlife of the Azores. In the morning we enjoyed the company of a nice group of common dolphins<\/a> close to Ponta Delgada. They were playful and curious as they came to check out our boat and surf in the waves. As well as these dolphins we registered our first sighting of Cory’s shearwaters<\/a> today. The Cory’s shearwater is an oceanic bird that visits the Azores archipelago in large numbers throughout the spring to Autumn to nest on the islands. This year they arrived a bit earlier than usual so it was a nice surprise.<\/p>\n
