{"id":757,"date":"2017-06-24T18:42:00","date_gmt":"2017-06-24T18:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/24\/what-incredible-summer-day\/"},"modified":"2019-11-22T22:36:29","modified_gmt":"2019-11-22T22:36:29","slug":"what-incredible-summer-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/what-incredible-summer-day\/","title":{"rendered":"What an incredible summer day!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nSummer has finally arrived and these days have been the perfect example: sun shining and calm sea!&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThe baleen whales are still passing by, today we saw them both in the morning and in the afternoon.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThe species of baleen whale that we saw today was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogger.com\/Fin%20whale:%20http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/fin-whale.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fin whale<\/a>, the second largest animal in the world. They were with feeding behavior, but between the feeding dives, we could see them really calm surfacing several times close to our boats.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThe resident <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogger.com\/Sperm%20whale:%20http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/sperm-whale.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sperm whales<\/a> were spotted one more day. In the morning tour, we could see two of them surfacing for a while before going for a deep dive. In the afternoon tour, we had another encounter with a male sperm whale, Mr Liable. We arrived to the area of Mr Liable when it was about to dive so could see just the tail from the distance (totally worth it)!<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogger.com\/Common%20dolphin:%20http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/common-dolphin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">common dolphins<\/a> were not far away from Ponta Delgada today but they were really spread out in the area\u2026 We could see small groups bow riding in front of our boats.
