\nToday we encountered two dolphin species that are very common here in the Azores. The first is the common dolphin, which as the name suggests is the most encountered species here and is resident. The second species is the Atlantic spotted dolphin which is a summer visitor but can be seen very frequently and in very large groups at this time of the year. In the afternoon we encountered both species together, feeding with a lot of seabirds. We had our usual Cory’s shearwaters feeding with the dolphins, as well as the great shearwater, of which we have been seeing quiete a few individuals the past week. It was great to be able to see the action as all animals were feeing together at the surface!<\/div>\n
