In some areas we could see dolphins all around us in all directions, sometimes in groups of several hundred individuals. This was especially the case with the Atlantic spotted dolphins, who were spread out over a large area together with Cory’s shearwaters and great shearwaters (indicating the dolphins were probably feeding together with these birds). At one point we were surprised to find some bottlenose dolphins mixed in one of these groups of the spotted dolphins, giving us a nice look at the size difference between these two dolphin species. From one of our small boats they also encountered some common dolphins and Risso’s dolphins, so between the different boats we had out on the boat this morning we encountered four different dolphin species!

In the afternoon tour we had the opportunity to see Atlantic spotted dolphins together with bottlenose dolphins again. They were really curious with the boats and active at the surface delighting us with some nice jumps!

Photos from today:

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;
