They continue their <a href=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/one-more-north-atlantic-humpback-whale-match\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">migrations<\/a> towards the north, like Norway, where the waters are more productive and full of food for them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By exchanging photos and comparing the flukes of the whales with other researchers around the Atlantic, there have been already found <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s00300-021-02998-y\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">matches<\/a> between Cape Verde, Norway, Iceland and Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last Saturday, we photographed a humpback whale that was sighted for the first time here on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/acoreswhalewatching\/posts\/7494375847269911\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">February 24th<\/a>, 2022. Also, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/acoreswhalewatching\/photos\/pcb.7773473312693495\/7773468799360613\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">today<\/a> we had another encounter with the same whale. Was this humpback whale here for these two months? The answer might be hard to know, especially because these animals are not always on sight.
