The sea was nice and the sun was out so we could enjoy the ride out there, and of course the cetaceans. We started the morning with a small but friendly group of <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/common-dolphin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">common dolphins<\/a>. After spending a bit of time with them we went further out in search of a whale that one of our <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/vigias-onshore-lookouts.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lookouts<\/a> had seen. We didn&#8217;t find the whale, but we did find a nice group of dolphins. At first we could see a few&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/atlantic-spotted-dolphin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Atlantic spotted dolphins<\/a>, then we noticed the majority of the dolphins were actually <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/striped-dolphin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">striped dolphins<\/a>, so we spent the rest of the adrenaline-filled encounter with these acrobats. We all enjoyed seeing the striped dolphins leaping out of the waves in a large group.
