At Futurismo we are aware of the importance of helping our local community so that together we can contribute to a better and more sustainable tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are much more than a tourism company. We also have an important role with social solidarity institutions (IPSS) and whenever possible, we offer experiences so that everyone in the local community has the opportunity to live and discover the amazing biodiversity of the Azores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We want to be part of the solution. We work together with various local projects, events and social institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week we had the opportunity to take with us two institutions \u2013 Casa das Freiras \u201cObra Social Madre Maria Clara\u201d, from Candel\u00e1ria, on Pico island<\/a> and Casa do Gaiato \u201cObra do Padre Am\u00e9rico, nos A\u00e7ores” on S\u00e3o Miguel island<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our mission is to respect and help the local population, and as a responsible company that we are, to involve the community for a common good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Casa das Freiras – Obra Social Madre Maria Clara http:\/\/www.osmmca.pt\/<\/a> is a private social solidarity institution that supports children and young people from disorganized and dysfunctional families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obra do Padre Am\u00e9rico \u2013 Casa do Gaiato of S\u00e3o Miguel http:\/\/casadogaiato-saomiguel.com\/<\/a> is a non-profit institution whose purpose is to educate and integrate children and young people who have been deprived of their family environment in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In both islands, S\u00e3o Miguel and Pico, where we have our shops, we provide opportunities for young people from the IPSS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you know that whale and dolphin watching has many benefits?<\/strong>
Being in contact with animals has many benefits for health. Several studies show that animals can increase self-esteem, reduce feelings of anxiety, isolation and grief. Watching cetaceans can help fight depression, increase confidence, as well as empathy and teamwork, among other benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Futurismo, fortunately, we know this well! And we have several partnerships<\/a>, as is the case with Aurora Social<\/a>, another social solidarity institution in S\u00e3o Miguel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
