\nToday was another successful
\nday out on the ocean here in S\u00e3o Miguel. Throughout the day we encountered 5
\ndifferent whale and dolphin species in a very calm ocean. In the morning we
\nstarted with a small group of striped dolphins<\/a>, that included some really tiny
\ncalves leaping out of the water. <\/span><\/span>
\n

\nNext we had fin whales<\/a> that were going on long
\ndives and hence unfortunately not so easy to watch, which happens sometimes
\nwhen working with nature. The common dolphins at the end of the morning more
\nthan made up for it though, as they were very playful around our boats. <\/span><\/span>
\n
<\/span><\/span>
\n
<\/span><\/span>
\nIn the
\nafternoon our different boats had different sightings, but with all of us
\nseeing both whales and dolphins. Some got to see two blue whales – a mother and
\ncalf pair as well as common dolphins, while others got to see two very calm and
\ncurious fin whales as well as Risso’s dolphins and common dolphins. <\/span><\/span>
\n

At the end
\nof the day everyone saw whales and dolphins and we all felt lucky and pleased
