Today we saw our four resident species! The weather couldn\u2019t be better, sunny, warm and the sea was flat, perfect conditions! <\/span>

\nIn the morning we started with the bottlenose dolphins<\/a>, a very big pod spread in a very big area. We continued our tour and we found sperm whales<\/a>, the biggest predator in the world, we stayed with the animal some minutes in the surface and eventually it showed the tail. When they do this it means that they go for a feeding dive (deeper dive) and we will not see them for a while (they can stay maximum of two hours under water). When we were coming back to Ponta Delgada we came across a small group of common dolphins<\/a> and our boat of full day was still lucky enough to see some risso\u2019s dolphin<\/a>s.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\nIn the afternoon sperm whales again! We get to an area with three sperm whales but they were a far away from each other, even though they were part of the same group. At a certain point they all went for a shallow dive (when they don\u2019t show the tail) and when they surfaced again two of them were together and stayed together till the end of our sighting. After, we went for bottlenose dolphins, it was a very small pod with only females and juveniles\/babies. We know that because all of the smaller dolphins were always side by side to an adult. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\nIn Pico Island, we saw two groups of female Sperm whales. One of them with a calf! We also encountered Common and Striped dolphins. <\/span><\/div>\n
