\nThe south coast woke up this morning so foggy but we spotted a pod of <\/span><\/span>common dolphins<\/a><\/span> close to Ponta Delgada.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/a><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAfter that, our lookouts kept looking for animals without success because of the weather conditions. Our boats continued going to the south and suddenly they found another species, the <\/span><\/span>bottlenose dolphin<\/a><\/span> that was not alone. They were also with <\/span><\/span>Atlantic spotted dolphins<\/a><\/span><\/span> swimming together. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/a><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n

\n<\/div>\n
\nSo there were two species of dolphins really playful around us. It’s not common to see these species in the same area, because bottlenose is a resident species but Atlantic spotted dolphins are seasonal in the Azores. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/a> <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n
<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\nThe clouds started to lift up so we returned to the harbour and we met again with the first pod of common dolphins. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\nFor the afternoon we headed out expecting to see some animals and we received a sea filled with common dolphins, starting out with a smaller group with a lot of calfs and juveniles so they did not come as close. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nWe left them to search for a different species and we could find another group of common dolphins, this time it was huge. More than 200 dolphins all around the boat! They were mating, bow-riding, foraging, following the boat and jumping! <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nWe also had the opportunity to remove more trash during today’s tour and continue to clean the Ocean.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
