\nJuly was another great month for whale and
\ndolphin watching in S\u00e3o Miguel. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n
<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\nIn total we encountered 11 different whale and
\ndolphin species (cetaceans). <\/span><\/span>
\n
<\/span><\/span>
\n
<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/a><\/div>\n


<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\nWe went out on the ocean every day of the month
\nand we encountered cetaceans during every tour that we went out. Our most
\nencountered species was the bottlenose dophin, followed by Atlantic spotted
\ndolphin, common dolphin and then the sperm whale. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n
<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\nWe also had some sei whales
\nthat were still migrating past and we also had some days with pilot whales,
\nfalse killer whales, striped dolphins, Risso’s dolphins and beaked whales. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n
<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\nAs
\nfor non-cetacean species, during the month we also registered loggerhead
\nturtles, a sicklefin devil ray, hammerhead sharks, plenty of flying fish and of
\ncourse a lot of seabirds, especially the emblemetic Cory’s shearwaters. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
