We&nbsp;found a pod of <span id=\"goog_669669032\"><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blogger.com\/\">sperm whales<\/a> <span id=\"goog_669669033\"><\/span>just one mile from the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">Ribeiras<\/span> Village. The sea was calm the whales looked like&nbsp;logs floating over the surface. They were&nbsp;calmly resting with smooth movements, socialising amongst themselves every now and then. We just stopped the boat and spent some time queitly&nbsp;observing these&nbsp;moments.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<br \/>\nOur trip got even better when we came across a pod of <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/atlantic-spotted-dolphin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Atlantic <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">spotted<\/span> dolphins<\/a>. They followed the boat, jumping and riding the waves as if they were surfing.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<br \/>\nIn the afternoon there was a lot of wind at sea but we were just as succesfull with the same two species: sperm whales and Atlantic spotted dolphins.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Today we were lucky with our whale watching in Pico Island.
